Acupuncture for women navigating modern life.

In a world that often seems to move faster than we can keep up, finding balance can feel impossible. Stress accumulates, and before we know it, our nervous systems become overwhelmed, affecting everything from mood and energy to sleep, menstruation, digestion, and focus.

At Yin Space, my mission is to provide a nurturing and peaceful sanctuary where women can restore their balance, reset their nervous system and reclaim their energy through the healing practice of acupuncture.

I’m dedicated to supporting women's unique physical and emotional needs, to help guide them towards optimal physical and emotional health.

In the ancient teachings of Chinese Medicine, Yin nourishes, nurtures, it holds and supports. It’s integral to everything from mental health to menstrual wellbeing, making it fundamental to female health.

Yin is soothing and grounding. It’s having a cup of tea when you’ve had a long day, it’s the antithesis to the fast-pace of the modern world.

Yin Space is founded on exactly that – because we could all do with a bit more Yin.

Hello, I’m Maddy.

Licensed acupuncturist and founder of Yin Space.

Yin Space is an acupuncture clinic dedicated to supporting women’s health, an area I found myself drawn to throughout my studies at the prestigious College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading where I achieved my degree with honours as well as undertaking a further year’s Diploma in Gynaecology, Fertility & Obstetrics.

Yin Space is founded on the desire to supporting women through the shifts in life - whether that’s navigating challenging menstrual health, working through fertility struggles, dealing with gynaecological conditions, facing mental health wobbles or simply needing a moment to land and breathe.

Female health specialists have such an important role to play in providing information, guidance, and support to women who are often left feeling confused or dismissed by conventional care. Whether it's navigating fertility, menstrual cycle issues, or simply wanting to feel more like yourself, knowledge can be deeply empowering. I’m particularly interested in how the toll of our emotions can affect the body, and my integrated training across Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture affords me the ability to view patients through both a physical and emotional lens when considering the best route to treatment.

One of the things I love most about being an acupuncturist is the opportunity to really get to know people. I learn something new from every patient I treat, and I feel so honoured to be able to support women through some of the hardest and most transformative chapters of their lives.

I’m looking forward to meeting you.

How can acupuncture support female health?

Through the gentle, painless placement of needles across specific points on the body, acupuncture is an ancient practise of medicine that can address an array of health concerns. These needles influence and regulate the flow of energy (known as Qi, pronounced chee), which helps to promote the release of endorphins, reduce inflammation, calm stress and ultimately rebalance the body for optimal health. These are just a few of the ways it may help.

  • Acupuncture can also support women experiencing a range of gynaecological conditions. By improving circulation, regulating hormones, and reducing inflammation, it can help ease symptoms associated with conditions such as endometriosis, PCOS, and irregular or painful periods.

  • Acupuncture can play a supportive role in fertility by enhancing blood flow to the reproductive organs, regulating hormones, and reducing stress. It can help optimise the menstrual cycle and improve overall reproductive health, supporting natural conception as well as enhancing outcomes for those undergoing assisted reproductive treatments such as IVF and IUI.

  • Acupuncture offers targeted support for pain related to hormonal fluctuations and menstrual health. It can reduce the intensity and frequency of period pain, tension headaches, and pelvic discomfort by regulating the nervous system, enhancing blood flow, and modulating inflammatory responses

  • Acupuncture works to restore balance and soothe the nervous system by targeting specific points that affect the autonomic nervous system. This helps reduce stress hormones, boost parasympathetic activity, and foster a deep sense of relaxation and mental calm.

  • From the hormonal fluctuations many women experience during menopause to imbalance that occurs around ovulation or menstruation such as PMDD and PMS, acupuncture can help restore balance and ease emotional instability.

  • By supporting the body’s natural rhythms, acupuncture can promote a healthy and balanced menstrual cycle. It helps regulate hormonal fluctuations, improve blood flow to the reproductive organs, and ease symptoms such as cramping, mood changes, and irregular cycles.
